In New York City and at Satchidananda Ashram (Yogaville), Integral Yoga provides a supportive environment where people of all faiths and backgrounds can come to study and live. Integral Yoga Institutes in New York, New York, San Francisco, California, Fairlawn, New Jersey, Coimbatore, India, Montreal, Canada, and Gibraltar; more than 50 Integral Yoga Teaching Centers around the world; and thousands of certified IYI teachers share the gifts of Yoga with multitudes of students.
The Integral Yoga Institute was founded in New York City in a large apartment on the Upper West Side in 1966. In 1970, a beautiful brownstone on West 13th Street, in Greenwich Village, was dedicated as the New York IYI. Both an ashram and a teaching center, it became a beacon for spiritual seekers from all over New York City and is the place where thousands of people have experienced Yoga for the first time. Over the years, the New York IYI has grown into one of the most respected and beloved Yoga centers in the city, an oasis for busy New Yorkers and out-of-town visitors.
