Inspired by Thailand's wealth of tradition, ancient customs, timeless art and of course the unique fighting style of Muay Thai, WAT is downtown Manhattan's authentic Thai Gym. Unlike any gym of its kind, WAT, meaning "Temple" in Thai, provides a setting seeped in traditional Thai decor with instruction in the art of Muay Thai, Jai Yet and Yoga, traditional Thai Massage, American Boxing and Nutrition to help you achieve both Inner and Outer Balance.

As WAT you can escape from the stress, confusion and pressures of New York City with a daily Yoga or Jai Yet class. Set in a temple-like atmosphere, these classes will provide you with an overall feeling of peacefulness and tranquility.

WAT management has taken a novel approach to keeping their students limber by hiring Vanessa Sanchez to lead classes in Yoga and Thai stretch. WAT offers Vinyasa Yoga classes. Yoga, practiced in its correct sequential order, gradually leads the practitioner to rediscovering his or her fullest potential on all levels of human consciousness. In addition to Yoga, Vanessa has created a new form of stretching solely for WAT called Jai Yet. After training in the Thai boxing and American boxing classes, Vanessa correctly assumed that an intense workout would require an intense stretch so she created a 60-minute class that combines the ancient art of Thai Massage into a group class.
